Description of the project

The consortium Framatome ANP / Siemens is establishing a turnkey nuclear power station for the Finnish electricity utility Teollisuuden Voima Oy (TVO) in Olkiluoto, Finland. For the new block No. 3 it will be the first time that a new European pressurized water reactor (EPR) is installed. Within the consortium Framatome supplies the reactor. Siemens will deliver the turbine technology.

According to TVO reports the total costs for the project Olkiluoto amount to approximately 3 billion Euro. The reactor will provide a capacity of approximately 1600 MW.
