Description of the project

The Sony Center, Potsdamer Platz in Berlin represents a new outstanding architectural ensemble. Seven buildings form a place that is enclosed by a 50m high roof construction of steel, glass and special substance membranes with a diameter of 100 meters. The historical "Kaisersaal" is harmoniously integrated into the complex which is self-contained within a 26-storied tower building. Several different utilizations (cinema, gastronomy, offices, showrooms, shopping facilities, exclusive flats, subterranean garages, representative outside facilities) create sophisticated requirements in the planning and realization of the individual buildings and building parts. The HOCHTIEF AG is commissioned with the turnkey construction. CODEMA is taking over the complete scheduling and controlling for the main contractor. To begin with, deadlines for tendering and execution of all trades will be set. In addition CODEMA is providing essential services for claim management.
