New Green Anode Plant in Abu Dhabi

The company Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) is the investor of the world largest aluminium plant which will be erected in the industrial zone (Taweelah) aof Abu Dhabi.

According to the time schedule EMAL is going to produce 700.000 tons of aluminium per year, starting in 2010. It is planned to double this capacitiy in a second construction phase. The investment for the first construction phase amounts to approximately 3.5 billion Euro.

Our client OUTOTEC has been awarded by EMAL with the design and erection of the auxiliary unit for the green anodes, which are required in the process of the electrolysis.

CODEMA supports OUTOTEC with the preparation of the basic design of the civil part and has been awarded by end of October 2007 with the detail design for all stell and concrete structures above ground.
